ACTIVIST NEWS

March 1993

The winter 1993 issue of The Drug Policy Letter, the newsletter of the Washington, D.C.-based Drug Policy Foundation (DPF) reports prospects for change under the Clinton Administration, and touches on a variety of issues, including needle exchange, the need to confront racism when talking about reform, and the history of and prospects for change in drug policy (The Drug Policy Letter, "Strategies for Change 1992: The Sixth International Conference on Drug Policy Reform," Number 17, Winter 1993).

DPF notes that Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-N.Y.) introduced Senate Bill 107 in late January, which if passed would mandate a study of the cost-effectiveness of the war on drugs by the National Academy of Sciences.
