Investigate CIA-Crack Allegations, Says National Black Caucus of State Legislators

CIA/DRUG ALLEGATIONS

The National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL) ratified a resolution on December 7, 1996 calling for a congressional investigation of CIA-crack allegations raised by a series of articles in the San Jose Mercury News on August 18-20, 1996. The NBCSL resolution endorses the call by Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA), U.S Senators Dianne Feinstein (D) and Barbara Boxer (D) from California, the city councils of Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Jackson, Mississippi, and St. Louis, and others, "for a congressional investigation, and the appointment of an independent special prosecutor, for a complete, thorough and independent investigation of these allegations, and for vigorous prosecution of individuals, where justified by probable cause, irrespective of their current or former official status."
